Where has fun gone?

I’ve been lucky. I’ve worked hard. I've played hard.
And not the kind of fun that comes from practical jokes that just embarrass people — I mean real fun. The kind that energises, connects, and makes work feel human.
Lately I’ve been watching Severance — and wow, what a (wildly exaggerated) reminder of how not to do it. The so-called "fun" on offer — like the Waffle Party or the Music Dance Experience — is hollow, awkward, and entirely joyless. It’s entertainment as obligation, not delight.
Real fun can’t be forced. It can’t be manufactured under fluorescent lighting and scheduled into 15-minutes. It has to be lived, shared, and felt.
Are we forgetting how important play really is?
