The problem with Change Announcements that fall flat

With the very best of internal comms at your fingers it's all too short-lived unless the business delivers on the promise it made. All too often businesses give great reasons for change—but then fail to act on them.
“We’re making organisational changes to improve collaboration!"
Reality: No visible effort to actually enable collaboration after the change.
When companies announce change but don’t follow through with real, tangible actions, employees tune out. They hear the words, but they don’t feel the impact.
Wouldn’t it be simple to:
Set up a collaboration whiteboard where colleagues can suggest how that collaboration can be best enaled?
Create visible spaces (physical or digital) where employees can contribute ideas?
Actually show employees that their input matters instead of just telling them?
Change isn’t just about saying the right things. It’s about doing the right things—especially in the crucial days after an announcement.
